When you use Community Notes Everywhere, we collect the following information:

  • X (Twitter) profile information: Your public handle, display name, avatar, follower count, and account creation date. This is collected when you sign in via OAuth.
  • Notes you write: The text of your notes, the selected text they reference, and the page URL where they are posted.
  • Ratings you submit: Your helpfulness ratings on other users' notes.
  • Page URLs: The URLs of pages where notes are created or viewed, used to associate notes with the correct content.

How We Use Your Data

  • Display your notes and ratings to other users
  • Calculate your reputation score based on rating accuracy
  • Determine your eligibility to write notes (reputation threshold)
  • Associate notes with the correct webpages
  • Moderate content through community reporting

What We Don't Do

  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties
  • We do not track your general browsing activity — we only see page URLs when you or others interact with notes on that page
  • We do not use your data for advertising
  • We do not share your data with third parties except as required by law

Data Retention

We retain your account data and contributions (notes, ratings) for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, please contact us. Notes you have written may be retained in anonymized form if they have been rated as helpful by the community.

Security

We use HTTPS for all communications. Authentication tokens are generated securely and stored hashed. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your data.
